Train Travel in Oxford

The railway station in Oxford is situated off Botley Road to the west of the city, but close to the city centre.

It provides frequent train connections to central London, as well as Reading, Bournemouth, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

There are several pubs close to the rail station, including The Antiquity Hall [map], which provides ale and Internet access, and The Honey Pot [map], Hollybush Row, which is a good place to sit outside, enjoy some hearty food and indulge in a spot of people watching.

The Student Travel Association [map] (STA) can be found on George Street, and is good for those planning to move on from Oxford to further afield once their visit is over.

Senior citizens in Oxford are eligible for a rail pass with which they can claim fare discounts. For more information about the pass call Oxford City Council on 01865 252695.

For more information about train timetables and to reserve seats call the train booking line on 0990 136170.
