Close by is Oxford’s most famous music venue, the Zodiac Club [map] on Cowley Road. This venue is a good place to see impressive rock and indie music from the best bands in the UK.

If you’re looking for the big pop names head to the Apollo Theatre [map]. This is the place to see the best in touring bands and large-scale musicals.

Modern Art Oxford [map] on Pembroke Street, hosts a wide selection of monthly events that range from ragga to rock, jazz and electronic sounds. So if you’re tired of the usual venues this place will give you a completely new experience.

Folk fanatics will find plenty of authentic sounds to be had throughout the area in dedicated little pubs and clubs. There’s also an annual Folk Festival held in April when some of the best names in the folk world descend on the town.
