GO Sandwich Bars in Harrogate

Sandwich bars in Harrogate When Jared Fogle lost an incredible amount of weight in 1999 and accredited it to eating a diet of low-fat sandwiches, he could never have imagined the image boost he would give to Subway [map] sandwiches. Now invading the UK, you can get a Subway sandwich in Harrogate on Beulah Street.

If you’re hoping to follow in Jared’s rather large footsteps, one of the seven sandwiches under six calories is a good place to start. If you can’t resist temptation, however, there’s plenty of other hot and cold butties to choose from as well as wraps.

If you'd rather steer clear of the bread based snack, you could try the Garden Fresh salad, which combines a delicious mix of fat free red wine vinaigrette, romaine and iceberg lettuce, baby spinach, onions, carrots, cucumber slices, grape tomatoes, green pepper strips, black olive slices, and croutons - this should keep you going for some time.

Head to The Blues Bar [map] for somewhere a lot more special than your run-of-the-mill sandwich shop. Located on Montpellier Parade, this is probably the only blues club and Egyptian restaurant in the country.

If you’re in the mood for a jamming session, listening to some heart-breaking blues or would prefer to dine in style then this is the place for you. And in terms of a lunchtime meal why not try the café-style treats or something from the lunch menu like, falafel, koshari and mashi, in the ambient and chilled out surroundings.

You could opt to get away from it all during your lunch time and head to The Retreat [map], Albert Street. This chic and modern lounge bar offers a great selection of cuisine for every size of appetite. There’s lots of sandwiches to choose from on the menu including cheese and red onion mayonnaise with pepper and the firm favourite BLT.

Also, for under a fiver at The Retreat you can also enjoy a baguette or bap with your choice of filling, plus a big salad and house fries or spicy potato spirals.
