GO Different in Harrogate

Alternative Eateries in Harrogate

When you’ve had your fill of stodgy British cuisine and you're looking for something tempting, go global in Harrogate with the wide choice of food on offer.

Cheaug Won on Cheltenham Parade, can give you your perfect introduction to modern Chinese cuisine. Offering great value for money and a warm and friendly service Cheaug Won is the perfect place to have an informal meeting or business lunch where tasty food is guaranteed.

For the latest Indian cuisine head to Mujib of Harrogate [map] on Devonshire Place. This is an exciting place to dine offering an unusual fusion menu with authentic Bangladeshi cuisine combined with influences from around the world.

The menu is beautifully laid out into 22 sections covering fusion appetisers, mains, vegetarian dishes, dietary dishes and classics including the most popular curries like korma, madras and vindaloo.

The atmosphere is lively and vibrant at La Tasca [map] on John Street. This intimate restaurant is little sister to its larger Leeds-based branch, but this helps create a splendidly chilled out venue complete with mood-enhancing lighting.

The menu features all the Spanish favourites you would expect including paella, 33 different types of tapas and plenty of fine Riojas. La Tasca tries to source all its food and drink from Spain (they even buy Spanish-brewed San Miguel instead of the British version!).

For French chic head to Café Rouge [map] on Beulah Street, which is a French fusion restaurant offering family dining in ambient surroundings. Or, when the weather’s fine, enjoy some authentic al fresco dining outside the brasserie.

The restaurants are open from 9:30am till late and cater for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just a drink as they are licensed. Meanwhile the menu covers a range of French favourites from croques and baguettes, to more substantial fare such as steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. Both Café Rouges offer a well-priced prix fixe menu, as well as two kiddies' menus that vary in price according to the age and size of your children.
