GO Takeaway in Cardiff

Takeaways in Cardiff After a hard day sightseeing, endless business meetings or a tiring shopping spree, you may not feel like putting your glad rags on and hitting the town. So why not just chill out, put your feet up and have someone deliver the meal of your choice right to your door from one of Cardiff’s huge array of takeaways.

Whether you fancy a curry, a bit of sweet and sour or a jumbo size pizza, there’s a takeaway catering for your needs in Europe’s youngest capital city.

For a taste of Italy in your comfy hideaway try Giuliano's Takeaway [map] on Caerphilly Road, which does awesome pasta dishes and great pizzas at bargain prices. The staff here are renowned for their helpful attitude, and the menu, which also include Southern Fried Chicken, will leave you spoilt for choice.

If it’s Chinese cuisine you’re after try The Golden House [map] on Upper Clifton Street, which has a great authentic menu with plenty of choice for vegetarians. Or there’s Lee's Chinese Takeaway on Whitchurch Road, a family run business that offers the whole works including set meals, fantastic starters and delicious rice dishes. Unfortunately this place is closed on Tuesdays.

Another Chinese worth trying is China Garden on Albany Road, which has a menu of more than 60 items, but unlike the other eateries mentioned above it doesn’t have a delivery service.

For a first class curry, try Leema's Indian Takeaway on Cowbridge Road East, which provides such big meals that a takeaway delivered to you on Friday night will probably keep you going until Sunday evening!

If it’s good old fish, chips and mushy peas that you fancy you’re in luck, because there is a wealth of fish bars dotted around the city including Tony's Fish and Chips on Caroline Street, which is an institution among students and clubbers alike.

To enjoy a gourmet pizza in your own home, place your order at Pizza Express, which offers a full takeaway choice very similar to its restaurant menu. But be warned there is no delivery service here so you need to be willing to trek into the city centre to pick up your order from the restaurant near Cardiff Castle.

The global chains like Domino’s Pizza and Perfect Pizza also have branches in Cardiff, and you can place your order over the telephone or via the Internet, and the food is delivered to your door.
