Cinema in Cardiff
There are a number of cinemas in Cardiff, all showing variety of Hollywood blockbusters and classic movies.

The Odeon [map], located in the Capitol Shopping Centre boasts five screens showing the latest releases, a snack shop and bar. This cinema is attached to a multi-storey car park and close to bus stops and the Queen Street train station, making it easy to get to.

Based on the Atlantic Wharf Leisure Village [map] in Cardiff Bay, the UCI Cinema has 12 screens and sits next to a 26-lane bowling alley, restaurants and a nightclub. Here you can catch all the latest movies in the non-smoking auditoriums, but not before treating yourself to popcorn from the snack shop, or ice cream from the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream outlet.

If you would rather watch foreign or independent films then the Chapter Arts Centre [map] with its popular Chapter kitchen café, and two cinema screens, is the place to go. There is also a popular UGC Cinema [map] on Mary Ann Street that shows new releases and arty films.

The city also plays host to Wales’ oldest film festival, the Cardiff Screen Festival, which is an annual event bringing a feast of big screen entertainment to the capital.
