GO Comedy In Bristol

Comedy in Bristol To appreciate the comedy scene in Bristol you'll need to attend “the big four” local premier comedy clubs.

Jesters [map]
on Cheltenham Road, (A38) is a great place to get yourself acquainted with the freshest talent around. Whether you want to see some startlingly funny stand-up or even boogie the night away, Jesters has something for you.

Stand-up fans will be impressed by the stellar line-up that includes the likes of Dominic Holland and Boothby Graffoe. Here you can take advantage of a meal deal and see three great comedians whilst enjoying a tasty treat from the restaurant.

The Comedy Box [map] on North Street, Bedminster, is a great venue to sit and relax in or splutter into a pint of beer at the weird and wonderful array of acts that grace The Box’s stage.

If you head to The Comedy Box early in the year (January-July), you might be lucky enough to see some excellent acts before they head off to do their thing at the Edinburgh Fringe as plenty of Perrier Award winners have also passed through The Box’s doors.

Jongleurs [map] is a chain of comedy clubs with an excellent reputation. The club in Bristol is located at Baldwin Street, and is a relatively new development with the aim of serving excellent comedy to the good people of Bristol.

Jongleurs has a selection of clubs across the country and has played host to some big names in comedy including Graham Norton and Ed Byrne, and you never know just who you might bump into at Jongleurs.

The Comedy Cavern [map] can be found further a field at George Street in Bath. The Comedy Cavern plays host to a plethora of luminaries from the cream of British Comedy including Lee Mack and Junior Simpson, and a particularly appealing factor of The Comedy Cavern is its Sunday evening variety show, which is the perfect way to enjoy the last of the weekend and prepare for a far less serious week ahead.
