GO The Morning After in Brighton

Morning After Relief in Brighton Whether you’ve got the hangover from hell or just want to start the day the right way, there are plenty of cafés in Brighton serving cooked breakfasts ‘til noon.

If it’s a typical ‘greasy spoon’ that you’re looking for head straight for the Naff Caff [map] on Western Road in Hove, which is very popular with students, Brightoners and visitors alike.

The huge fry-ups with chips, bacon, egg, mushrooms, sausage, beans and toast are the obvious favourites – and are all usually washed down with a mug of tea or coffee. A vegetarian option is also available along with lunches and light snacks.

To grab a bite to eat with the locals you need to visit Dumb Waiter [map] in the North Laine district, where you can enjoy breakfast, sandwiches, salads, pies and all sorts of snacks. If you can’t face food after your big night out, then grab a cup of tea, creamy hot chocolate or generous "mugachino" and sit at one of the tables outside.

For a somewhat trendier place to eat try The Chilli Club [map] under the Kings Road Arches, a small restaurant that serves delicious breakfasts until noon. But if you miss brekky fear not, you can tuck into a selection of light meals, such as bruscetta, gourmet sandwiches and stir-fry.

The calming sound of waves washing over the pebbles may be just what you need to help relieve the hangover. If so take a trip to Boardwalk [map] on the seafront. Open all day for drinks or food, this cute little restaurant has a tempting menu of homemade burgers, organic meat dishes, salads and a good old English breakfast.

Not far from here you’ll find Lucy’s Restaurant [map], a little eatery next to the West Pier and close to a new paddling pool and play area. It’s open all day and into the evening serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a children’s menu and a selection of organic baby food in jars.

Worth trying for a business breakfast or family brunch is Circus Circus [map], a café, bar and restaurant rolled into one. Popular with office workers, tourists and businesspeople, it has an extensive menu on offer from breakfasts and baguettes to full evening meals.

For something different why not pay a visit to the renowned Sanctuary Café [map] in Hove, a cool venue that provides board games to play whilst you’re drinking your coffee. Originally a vegetarian cafe, the menu has recently expanded to offer Burmese, European and African cuisine.
