GO Different in Blackpool

Alternative Eateries in Blackpool

If your taste buds are tired of battered fish and hot dogs, branch out during your stay in Blackpool by heading to one of the many restaurants serving something a little different. Whether you fancy Chinese, Thai, Indian, Italian or Afro-Caribbean, there’s an eatery for you in Britain’s premier seaside town.

For Chinese head to the Magic Lantern Chinese Restaurant [map] on Coronation Street, which offers authentic Oriental cuisine made from the finest fresh ingredients.

The award-winning Michael Wan's Mandarin Cantonese Restaurant [map] on Clifton Street is another favourite for tourists and local alike. This place has been established for more than 40 years and has won the Gold Award for best food in the North West.

If Thai spices are more your thing then pay a visit to the Payathai Thai Restaurant [map] on St Annes Road, an enchanting restaurant with a wooden bridge over a waterfall. The staff here are all kitted out in traditional Thai uniform and you can even order a takeaway to be delivered to your hotel.

Those looking for Indian cuisine will not be disappointed as there are plenty of curry houses in central Blackpool, such as Spice of India [map] on Queen Street and Terry's Balti House [map] on Clifton Street, which both serve authentic food in a friendly atmosphere.

For plate-smashingly delicious Greek cuisine then book your table at Giggis Tavern [map] on Church Street or for traditional Italian dishes head to La Fontana Restaurant [map] on Clifton Street, Blackpool's premiere Italian restaurant.

If you’re looking for a party atmosphere then try Lagoonda [map] on Queen Street, a relatively new Afro-Caribbean restaurant serving dishes such as jerk pork and fruity curry in a buzzing environment.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach also has its fair share of eateries including the cool Coasters American Diner and Bar [map], where seating is provided in the form of a dodgems and waltzer rides. The restaurant offers a good choice of Tex-Mex dishes and American favourites.
